Forsta Plus conforms to WCAG 2.2, depending on the level of support required, which means your survey will be 508-conformant for system generated code. WCAG conformance signifies that content is accessible to a wide range of people with disabilities. Forsta Plus gained the WCAG 2.2 A/AA conformance using testing by Deque Systems against best practices, screen reader software and various tools including color contrast checking.
With over one billion people around the world experiencing some form of disability, according to the World Bank, the inability to accommodate those potential customers and employees means excluding a large segment of the population. Improving accessibility not only makes it easier for customers and employees with disabilities to interact with brands and products and offer valuable feedback, but it also delivers a host of other business benefits.

Responsive Survey Rendering Accessibility
Forsta PlusSurvey Designer supports accessibility for responsive survey rendering. Accessibility support is active without having to opt-in and select a different survey rendering; the rendering is the same. In addition, an accessibility mode toggle allows a survey to use higher contrast colors by default and enables dynamic page transitions, which can help some screen readers (refer to the Theme section in the Layouts, Themes & Colors Page article).
Before any user customization, most question types support accessibility when using a responsive rendering layout. It is up to the designer of a survey to ensure customizations made do not break accessibility functions. Ultimately, whether or not your survey is “accessible” depends on how you design and build your survey. If you have added custom content such as images, videos, scripting, HTML markup and styling into your survey, the accessibility functionality may not be guaranteed.
Most question types support accessibility with the exception of the following:
- Single choice - Boolean
- Single choice - Searchable
- Multi choice - Searchable
- Numeric list - auto sum
- Ranking - Rank by drag drop
- Grid - Carousel images
- Grid - Card sort
- 3d-Grid
- Geolocation
- Audio capture
- Video capture
- Charts
To maintain accessibility, consider using different question types from those shown above.
