Once external test links have been generated for a survey, these links are made available in the Survey Testing And Preview Area. Here you can also update the links if changes are made to the survey (go to External Testing for more information).

Single Page Preview:
- Click the Generate links button under Single Page Preview to generate a single-page preview of the current version of the survey. Here, all the questions in the survey are presented as the respondent will see them, on a single page so you can scroll through them. A separate page with its own link is created for each language selected for the survey. Note that this functionality cannot be used to submit survey data.
- Here you can select the items that you want to be included in the preview. Select as required, then click Generate. The selection dialog closes, and when the preview has been generated a link for each language selected for the survey appears. Note that generation may take a few minutes depending on the size and complexity of the survey. Click a link to copy the URL to your clipboard, then paste it into a new browser window to see the preview.
- Once the links exist, if you make changes to the survey then you must click Update Links to refresh the preview page(s).
When you click Generate Links, a selection dialog opens.

Random Test Data:
The Random Data generator enables you to test a survey by automatically generating a number of test interviews. The generator runs through the survey selecting random responses for the questions. It runs all script code and follows any skip logic (conditions) and answer-list filtering (code masks) that may be included in the questionnaire, so you are able to simulate real interviews. Note that the generator will not execute SendMail scripts and send emails. The "data" provided for Open Text and Numeric questions will be random strings of alpha-numeric characters appropriate to the question type.
- To generate random test data, click the Generate button.
- Select the desired number of responses.
- Once test data has been generated the Erase Existing Test Data option becomes available. Toggle this to On if you want to overwrite existing random data that was generated in a previous test; leave it Off if you want to add the new set of random data to the existing set..
- Select the desired language.
- Click Generate.
The Generate Random Test Data overlay opens.

The overlay closes and a message is presented informing you that the generation task is running. On completion a new message is displayed informing you that the test data is now available.
You can now export the test data to an Excel file for viewing and assessment (go to Exporting the Survey Data for more information).
