The first time you log in and create a new survey, a “Tips” overlay - is displayed. This overlay provides you with some basic information about the Survey Designer functionality, for example that the system automatically saves all the changes you make to the survey though you can disable this.

From here you can add your first item to the survey, by either clicking the button above the overlay or by clicking the link in the lower-right corner; the Add Item overlay then opens (go to Adding Question Types for more information). If you do not wish to see the tips overlay again, check the “Don’t show this message again” box in the lower-left corner before you move on to building your survey.
