HeatMap Multi Question Type
The HeatMap Multi question type enables you to include multi questions in your survey where the question is presented as an image and hotspot areas in that image are the answers to the question. The respondent selects their answers by clicking on the hotspots in the image.

Custom settings - allow you to for example select the image to be presented and set the hotspot colors.

Once you have defined the answer items on the Edit tab, the Area Settings options become available. You can now add one area to the image for each answer that has been defined on the Edit tab, and the Area Type drop-down allows you to create the areas as either rectangular or polygonal. You can adjust the answer codes for the areas so that the areas are linked to the correct answers, and for each area you can input a tool tip that appears to the respondent when they hover their mouse pointer over the area (if the respondent opens the survey on a mobile they must tap the area).
To simplify the process while creating the question, if you click on an area in the image the corresponding tool tip text is highlighted, and if you click on a tool tip text field then the corresponding area in the image is highlighted. You can also delete areas that are no longer required - click the X button for that area.

Note: You cannot add more areas to the image than you have answers in the Edit tab. If you attempt to add more areas, nothing will happen until you have removed an existing area.
HeatMap Grid Question Type
The HeatMap Grid question type enables you to include questions in your survey where the question is presented as an image and hotspot areas in that image are the answers to the question. The respondent selects their answers by hovering on an image and selecting the desired answer from a pop-up menu. In the Grid version of the HeatMap, the answer images are laid out in a grid format.

Custom settings - allow you to for example select the image to be presented, set a maximum and minimum number of answers and define messages to inform the respondent of procedures, and set the type and color of borders and backgrounds.
