This question type allows you to create a question where the respondent provides their answers by highlighting areas of text. Two options are available:
The respondent can hover over an area of text then select a highlight from an overlay that appears.

The respondent can select the highlight they wish to use, then select the areas of text to which they want to apply the selected highlight.

This question is set up as a grid question where the each area of text to be highlighted is a prompt label of the grid and the answer options are part of the scale items. The above example is set up as:

By default, the prompt labels are displayed with no line breaks in a paragraph layout. If line breaks are required, add a <br> tag to the end of the answer label in HTML view mode. Only page breaks at the end of the line are honored.

Custom settings - allow you to for example select the type of highlighter action (see above), the colors to be used, the number of answers desired and prompt messages.
