Setting the Appearance property to Carousel changes the layout of the multi-grid question to that shown below. Note that if Carousel is selected, several of the other options that are normally available to grids and multi-grids will be hidden.
Note: For Multi Grid questions, this appearance type is only available in Survey Designer when using a responsive layout (go to Responsive Rendering for more information).
Figure 1 - An example of a Grid question with the Carousel layout
The Carousel setting results in each grid statement being split into a separate view. The question text appears towards the top of the page, the first question item is presented, and the answer options are presented below. The respondent selects their desired answer or answers from the list. For grid questions the next question is then presented, while for multi-grids the respondent must click the Next button to move to the next question. A progress bar indicating the respondent's progress through this grid question is displayed below the question text. For grid questions, the survey's Next navigation button is displayed once the Carousel is completed.
The Carousel layout has several options; Star rating, Grid bars or Images can be used to vary the layout.
