You can use images as the answer options for Single, Multi, Grid and Multi grid questions, and you can also add them to answer lists. To add images as answer options:
- Open the question details page for the question you wish to add images to, and check the Use images in answers box.
- In the Image fields which appear in the upper part of the page, set the width and height for the images in pixels.
Image icons are added to each row in the answer list.

You can add images individually, or you can add multiple images simultaneously.

- Click on the image icon for the first answer to which you want to add an image.
- Find the image you wish to use and select it. Note that if the image is not already in the File library then you can upload it - see below.

The Image Library overlay opens, showing all the folders and images you currently have in your file library.

Adding Multiple Images:
Note: The process of adding multiple images adds a corresponding number of answers to the answer list. That is, you create the answers by adding the images to the list.
- In the question details overlay, click the down-arrow beside the Add many button and select Add many ... images.
- Find and select the images you wish to use.
- Click Create answer images.
- Repeat the procedure for each image file you wish to add.
The Image Library overlay opens, showing all the folders and images you currently have in your file library.
Note: The images will be added to the answer list in the order in which you select them from the File library.
Once you have uploaded an image, a small thumbnail of the image will be displayed in the list.
Figure 3 - The answers with the image icons
Note that once an image is added to the file library, you cannot upload another image with the same name; you must either change the name of the image you are uploading, or go to the file library and delete the original file. Refer to the Forsta Professional Authoring documentation for more information.
Uploading Images:
If you select Upload Image, the Upload Image overlay opens. You can now drag image files from your file explorer and drop them into the overlay field, or you can browse to the images and select them. When you click Upload, the files will be uploaded to your File library and also added to the question. The space currently available in your file library is displayed in the overlay.
Note that you can also add text to the answer, then if the respondent is using a screen reader it will tell the respondent what the item is.
Image URLs
If you wish to copy out the URLs for the images you can click the Copy column icon for the appropriate column of images. You can then paste the list of URLs into another location or document. If you want to access the URL for a single image, click the Show HTML source button
. The URLs are then shown instead of the images.
You can also add a "hover" and "selected" image for each answer. If you wish to do this, go to the overflow menu and enable Advanced answer settings(go to Advanced Answer Settings for more information). This activates two more columns of image icons, into which you can add the additional images. If you do not add additional images for "hover" and "selected", then default effects will be used.
