Custom Languages
The languages that are available on Forsta Plus differ according to the installation location, and which additional languages (custom languages) have been added for each installation. Therefore, be aware that if you intend to export/import surveys between the different environments (on-premise/Euro/US/Aus) and you are using custom languages, you should check the relevant language codes for the sites and edit the XML export file as appropriate (see Manage Translations).
To view a list of all installed languages and their associated language codes, use the Home > Help > Language Overview menu command from within Professional Authoring.
Built-in Translated Languages
Some of the supported languages already have default translated phrases for texts and messages presented to respondents. These are the following:
- Norwegian
- Swedish
- German
- French
- Spanish
- Finnish
- Danish
- Italian
- Dutch
- Portuguese
- Japanese
- Chinese
- Chinese Simplified
- Chinese Traditional
- Korean
- Arabic
- Russian
- Hebrew
For other languages, phrases will default into the main language category (for example, Venezuelan Spanish into Spanish). If a language translation is not available, phrases and messages are displayed in English, which is the overall default language.
Additionally, if you wish to manage your own translations (to edit the already-translated phrases, or to create a new set for a different language), see Manage Survey Messages.
